Orange Egypt signs EUR500mn loan with parent, expects to receive 4G spectrum in February 2017
Orange Egypt (previously Mobinil) [OREG.CA] is expecting to receive its 4G spectrum in February 2017 after it is vacated by the Egyptian government, according to the company’s CEO, Jean-Marc Harion. The statement comes after the company announced it had signed a four-year EUR500mn loan agreement with its parent company, Orange Group, at a fixed interest rate of 7% p.a. Orange Egypt had agreed to pay USD484mn for the 4G spectrum, 50% of which were paid in EGP upon signing the agreement and the remainder (50% USD portion) is to be paid in the next few days. Harion said that 4G services will be offered at the same price of 3G services and added that his company is currently not in a position for a capital increase. (Al Borsa)
