Natixis seeking buyers for Dubai Group’s stakes in EFG and Bank Muscat
Natixis is holding discussions to find buyers for Dubai Group’s banking assets that back a USD1.1bn loan to the company. The French bank is working with adviser to find a buyer for Dubai Group’s 12% stake in EFG Hermes and Bank Muscat. The stakes are worth a combined USD391 million. Natixis is enforcing its right to seek a buyer for the assets under the terms of a restructuring deal Dubai Group made with its creditors two years ago. As part of that agreement, Natixis had the option to sell the stakes if Dubai Group had not repaid the loan by end of March. (Bloomberg)
