Oman plans to build two new water projects

Oman plans to build two independent water projects in Duqm (60,000 cubic metres of water per day) and Khasab (16,000 cubic metres of water per day) to meet the growing demand for potable water in the interior regions. The groundwork for these projects has already been started, which is part of a series of small and large water projects planned in different parts of the country as the demand for water has grown 6% per year. The two desalination projects are expected to start operations in 4Q19, according to the annual report of the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP). (Times of Oman)
