Mercedes-Benz importer settles dispute with Customs Authority
An Egyptian importer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles reportedly settled a dispute with the Customs Authority regarding calculating import duties. The authority has transferred back EGP700mn to the company after the Cabinet’s dispute resolution committee ruled in the importer’s favour. Meanwhile, BMW signed an EGP55mn settlement with the Customs Authority after reaching an agreement to end a dispute over customs tariffs and valuations of imported cars.
