Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) [1211.SE] has announced the start of commercial production at Jabal Sayid copper mine, which is owned by its affiliate, Maaden Barrick Copper Company (MBCC), on 1 July 2016. The company noted that the average annual production of Jabal Sayid would be over 45,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate per year. On another note, Jabal Sayid has a mine life of about 16 years and reserves of 635,000 tonnes of copper, and that the financial impact would be reflected in 3Q16 results.
