Mobile operators request assurance to repatriate profits in USD to their shareholders and means to source FX liquidity for equipment purchases
The three mobile network operators (MNOs) have requested from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) assurance to be able to repatriate their profits in the future in USD to their respective shareholders, if the government insists on receiving 50% of the 4G licence cost in USD, according to a sources at one of the MNOs. Moreover, the MNOs requested to be granted priority when banks provide foreign currency for 4G equipment purchases. (Al Borsa)
