Electricity Ministry adds service charge to consumers’ power bills
The Ministry of Electricity has added a service charge to consumers’ power bills in FY16/17, to be applied retroactively as of July 2016, to be added to September bills. The charge will be imposed to activate a call centre starting September to deal with customer complaints, Minister Mohamed Shaker said. The charge, which varies based on consumption tier, is being set at EGP1-20/month for residential bills and EGP5-25/month for commercial bills. (Al Mal)
