The UAE's direct non-oil trade totalled AED269.5bn in 1Q16, marginally down on 1Q15, according to the Federal Customs Authority (FCA). It said that imports (AED166.1bn) accounted for more than half of the UAE non-oil foreign trade during Q1, while exports totalled AED46.8bn and re-exports reached AED56.6bn in the same period. The FCA said that UAE non-oil foreign trade during Q1 showed ‘remarkable stability’, despite slowing global economic growth rates and declining imports and exports in several UAE key strategic partner countries because of the global oil price crisis.
