UAE publishes VAT regulations ahead of Jan 1st start
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 28 Nov issued its final executive regulation for value-added tax, a key step as it prepares to roll out the levy next year. The rules were published on the Federal Tax Authority website in Arabic and English, just days away from the mandatory registration deadline. Businesses with turnover of more than AED150mn were required to register on 31 Oct. Those with turnover of more than AED10mn must register by 30 Nov, and all other businesses with turnover of more than AED375,000 dirhams by 4 Dec.
