Telecom regulator gives operators 48 hours to accept the final 4G licence terms; MNOs disagree on 2G and 3G rent price to TE
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has given the operators 48 hours to accept the final 4G licence terms, according to an unnamed government source. The operators have requested more 4G spectrum from NTRA, the source added. In other news, mobile network operators (MNOs) have announced their disagreement on the price of renting out of their respective 2G and 3G networks to Telecom Egypt (TE) [ETEL.CA] and requested price adjustments for the current interconnection agreements. TE had previously granted NTRA the right to negotiate the pricing schemes with the MNOs on its behalf.
