Telecom regulator expects EGP2.5bn collections per annum from operators following 4G service launch
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) is expecting to collect EGP2.5bn per annum following the 4G service launch. NTRA will collect 3% of fixed-line service revenues and 6% of mobile-service revenues from the operators. The three mobile network operators (MNOs) currently pay a variable rate ranging from 5-6% of annual mobile revenues. In other news, NTRA does not intend to extend the 4G licence framework review period, which is set to expire in August. (Al Borsa, Al Mal)
