SME financing under CBE initiative reaches EGP136bn
SME loans under the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) initiative reached EGP136bn since the initiative was introduced in Dec 2015, benefitting around 522,000 entities, according to CBE Deputy Governor Gamal Negm. He added that the NPL ratio for these loans stands at just 4.4%, despite the risky nature of lending to SMEs.
