Saudi labour minister replaced; top religious body reshuffled
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman issued a Royal Decree, appointing Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis as Minister of Labor to replace Mufrej Al-Haqabani. The King also ordered the reshuffling of the Kingdom’s top consultative body - the Council of Senior Scholars, headed by Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, according to the decree. King Salman also ordered extensions for dedicated sheikhs who are members of the Permanent Committee for Ifta, which is affiliated to the council. As per the Decree, Shoura’s Secretary-General Mohammad Al-Amr, Director General of Saudi Customs Saleh bin Manie Al-Khelaiwi and Governor of the Public Education Evaluation Commission Nayef bin Hashal Al-Roumi have been relieved of their duties. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al-Sadhan has been appointed as a Minister-Ranked Consultant at the Royal Court, according to the Decree. (Arab News, SPA)
