A new bylaw issued by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs makes it mandatory for all gas stations and car service centres to renew their operating permits annually. The period of validity of municipal licence for operating any institution that poses a public health hazard risk, including car service centres and gas stations, will be limited to one year, according to the new executive bylaw for municipal licencing. The period of validity of the licence for opening any other shops will be one to three years, while for the licence for construction firms will be three years. The municipality can revoke the licence of any firm in case it does not start the concerned commercial activity within 12 months of obtaining the permit or for not renewing it as per regulations.
