The chief of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority reportedly confirmed that Dubai Water Canal will be completed by the end of 2016. According to state agency WAM, RTA chairman, H.E. Mattar Al Tayer said that among the key projects to be completed this year is the Dubai Water Canal project, which would be fully complete by the end of this year, as well as the Union Museum Project, and Improvement of Wafi Interchange Project. Other projects listed for completion by Al Tayer include the Improvement of Umm Al Sheef and Latifa bint Hamdan Roads Junction with the Sheikh Zayed Road Project, improvement of Dubai International Airport Junctions Project, and improvement of Al Shandagha Hub Project. "The new projects [planned for 2016] are the widening of Latifa bint Hamdan Road Project, Parallel Roads Project, and improvement of the 7th Interchange of Sheikh Zayed Road Project," Al Tayer added. The RTA chairman said he expects the agency’s total revenues to jump by 14% in 2016, to USD2.04 billion with an operational budget of USD1.07 billion, and infrastructure project budget of USD1.01 billion. The latter will be spent on 55 projects, including 12 new roads. (Arabian Industry)
