Al Futtaim Carillion has been named as the preferred tenderer for construction of the USD1bn Reem Mall. The two parties will enter exclusive and detailed contract negotiations, with the objective to reach an agreement to execute the remaining works. The Dutch Foundation, a full-service engineering foundation company based in Abu Dhabi, is currently on site carrying out an enabling works contract involving excavation, lateral restraint systems, and dewatering. c7mn cubic feet of material had been removed to date, with dewatering progressing at a rate of 84,000 cubic feet per day. Reem Mall, developed by NREC in partnership with Kuwait's UPAC, will include 2mn sqft of leasable area. It will comprise c450 stores, including 85 food and beverage outlets.
