Pfizer commences production at new Saudi production plant
Pfizer opened a production plant in King Abdullah Economic City with investments worth c.SAR187 to produce its medicines locally, where production has effectively started in 2017. Pfizer will initiate production, with 16 types of medicines, covering five therapeutic areas: cardiovascular, pain, anti-infective, urology and neurology. The company was awarded a licence in 2016 that allowed it to fully own its investments in Saudi Arabia, as well as importing and exporting its products, which is in accordance with Vision 2030.
