Oman invites interest in independent water project
Oman Power & Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has invited developers to submit expressions of interest (EOI) for a planned independent water project (IWP) at Wadi Dayqah. The project is planned to have a production capacity of 27.5mn imperial gallons a day (125,000 cubic metres a day). In addition to the desalination capacity, the EOI document states that there is the potential for hydropower generation at the water treatment plant. Scheduled commercial operation for the full capacity is required by 31 October 2022, with early water capacity of 9.2mn imperial gallons a day required from 1 April 2022.
