NTRA looking into granting TE privileges over 4G licence offerings
The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority is looking into granting Telecom Egypt (TE) [ETEL.CA] competitive privileges. According to an official, the NTRA is considering giving TE a six-month head-start in launching the 4G service, in addition to the exclusivity of other VoIP applications such as Skype and Viber. NTRA will hold several meetings with MNOs in the coming period to discuss the competitive privileges that will be granted to TE in offering the 4G service.
