Nama Group posts 2015 net profit of OMR113mn as revenue rises 36%
The Nama Group, which consists of eleven companies engaged in electricity generation, transmission, supply, distribution and procurement in the sultanate, reported total revenue of OMR1.1bn for 2015 and net profit of OMR113mn. The 36.4% growth in revenue, which includes customer collection and government subsidies, was mainly due to the increase in subsidies to customers, from OMR295mn in 2014 to OMR448mn in 2015, in light of the increase in gas prices from USD1.5 per mmbtu to USD3 per mmbtu during the year. Addressing the press conference, Omar al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group said the group's customer base increased by 7% in 2015 to reach 1mn. (Muscat Daily)
