NBE, Banque Misr stop issuing 20%, 16% CDs

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr have decided to stop issuing 20% 1.5-year CDs and 16% three-year CDs, which would be replaced with 17% one-year and 15% three-year CDs, respectively, following the 100bps cut in policy rates last week. On the other hand, the National Investment Bank (NIB), owned by the Ministry of Planning, has decided to issue 17.25% one-year CDs.
