Mobily investors’ lawsuit: Appeals Committee invalidates appeals by investors claiming damages from accounting restatements
The Appeal Committee for the Resolution of Securities Disputes has decided to invalidate the appeals filed by investors, claiming damages as a result of Mobily’s accounting restatements, and has resent the cases back to the Committee for the Resolution of Securities Disputes for further review, according to the reasoning in the decisions of the Appeal Committee. The Appeal Committee noted that reviewing the cases requires examining the responsibility of the company and its management, in light of the relevant articles of the Capital Market Law and its regulations. Mobily said that the impact of the Appeal Committee’s decisions on Mobily’s accounts, if any, cannot be determined at this stage. The lawsuits were originally filed by some investors claiming compensation for losses as a result of the company’s accounting restatements, and the Committee’s decisions to invalidate the case had been appealed by some of the plaintiffs.
