Mobile operators express concern over 8% VAT on telecom services
The three mobile network operators (MNOs) have expressed their concerns over the potential 8% value added tax (VAT) on telecom services in Egypt. However, telecom service tariffs are not expected to rise significantly following the implementation, according to Deputy Finance Minister, Amr El Monaier. On the other hand, ADSL services are expected to get exempted from the said tax for a period of one year commencing implementation. (Al Mal)
