Ministry of Health signs agreement to establish first oncology drug factory at a cost of EGP400mn
The Ministry of Health and the Military Production Ministry have signed a partnership agreement that allows government’s entity, Vacsera, and Pharco Pharmaceutical Company to build the first oncology medicine factory in Egypt at a total investment of EGP400mn. The factory, which will produce 103 types of drugs chosen after coordination with the National Cancer Institute, is expected to cover 95% of local demand for oncology treatment, according to Health Minister Ahmed Rady. He further added, that following the launch of the factory, the price of oncology treatments is expected to drop. (Al Masry Al Youm)
