Maaden announces allocation of its rights issue proceeds as of 4Q2015
Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) [1211.SE] has announced developments regarding the use of the rights issue proceeds that were obtained at end of 4Q2015. According to the announcement, a total of SAR3.83 billion were used from the proceeds of the capital increase worth SAR5.6 billion, while the remaining proceeds amounted to SAR1.77 billion. The used proceeds included offering expenses of SAR23.9 million. Regarding the Maaden Waad Al Shamal phosphate Project, the company used SAR3.29 billion and expects to use SAR1.77 billion to finance the remaining portion of the company's equity investment in the project. As of end of December 2015, the project's developments are as follows: i) 50% completion of the beneficiation plant; ii) 72.6% completion of the sulphuric acid plant; iii) 66.9% completion of the phosphoric acid plant; iv) 84.8% completion of the ammonia plant; and vi) 47.4% completion of the DAP plant. As for the Maaden Baeuxite and Alumina Company, the company used SAR509 million from the capital increase proceeds to repay outstanding debts against the murabha finance facility, while SAR7 million has been used to fund Maaden's equity contribution to the project. As of end of December 2015, the construction of the Maaden Bauxite and Alumina Company project have been fully completed and is currently in its ramp-up stages. (Tadawul)
