The start of electronic registration for the Citizens’ Account Program through the e-portal of the programme begins today, according to Majed Al-Isaimi, General Supervisor of Social Development at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development. Registration is available 24 hours a day, and the e-portal is the only way to register the data of beneficiaries of the programme, he said. Financial support will provide in cash through bank transfers. Stipends to families will be paid before implementing any reforms that could infringe on citizens’ rights. The outcome of the registration will be reviewed for evaluation by a ministerial committee, which is responsible for the Citizens’ Account Program. The programme will be subject to regular reviews of natural consumption levels to achieve fairness and support. Reviews will also reflect changes in energy prices and other needs, which might put extra burdens on families. (Arab News)
