A team of taxation experts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is reportedly in Cairo to provide technical assistance to the Finance Ministry on tax reform policy. Deputy Finance Minister Amr El Monayer had requested technical assistance from the IMF during the Spring meetings in April, the source said, adding that the team’s presence is not linked to talks on a loan or Article IV consultations.
