Government begun talks with Parliament on IMF loan, Finance Minister says

The government has already begun talks with Parliament about the IMF loan, which will require ratification if a base agreement is reached, Minister of Finance Amr Al-Garhy said. Egypt’s foreign exchange policy is linked with plans to grow exports and curb imports, the Minister noted, adding that the reform agenda would shrink the country’s middle class. Egypt’s external debt is set to reach USD53.4bn if the country received the loan, the Minister noted. (Reuters,  Enterprise)
