Former top auditor to face trial after alleging mass corruption

Egypt's former top auditor Hisham Geneina was reportedly referred for criminal prosecution on Thursday on a charge of spreading false news about the cost of the country's corruption. President Sisi had sacked Geneina last March after he concluded that government corruption had cost the country EGP600bn (USD86bn) over a four-year period. (Reuters)
