ETHYDCO successfully produced ethylene and polyethylene, sold its production to domestic and international markets
According to a report sent from the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) to the Ministry of Petroleum, the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) has started producing ethylene and polyethylene (PE), making it available in both local and international markets. The company mentioned that the complex has produced 124 kt of ethylene, 64 kt of HDPE and LLDPE. The report added that ETHYDCO: i) sold 51 kt of PE in local and international markets, worth EGP537.7mn and USD31mn, respectively; and ii) exported 500 tonnes of butadine. It is worth mentioning that Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (Sidpec) [SKPC.CA] owns 20% of ETHYDCO.
