Elsewedy Electric ( SWDY.CA) subsidiaries, Elsewedy PSP and Elsewedy Cables Qatar, signed an EPS contract with SAK Holding Group in Qatar for 132/11kV substation on a turnkey basis on 30 July 2016. The contract value is QAR80mn (USD22mn, EGP191mn) , to be delivered within 14 months from the contract signing date. Management commented that signing this project is a further testament to Elsewedy Electric's commitment to the energy sector in Egypt and the region both for power generation, transmission and distribution activities. Turnkey backlog reached EGP21.4bn by end of 1Q16. In June 2016, the company also won two underground transmission line projects in Egypt, with a total value of EGP671mn, to be executed within six months.
