Egyptian, US-Chinese partnership to set up pharmaceutical plant, to begin operations in 2017
A group of Egyptian investors signed a partnership agreement with an American-Chinese company to establish pharmaceutical production company. The company’s operations will focus on production pharmaceutical raw materials, typically imported by local companies. The Egyptian investors, who set up a company by the name of Activia, will undertake construction of the planned 5,000 sqm production facility in Burj Al Arab at an investment cost of USD10 million. The foreign counterparty will be responsible for providing know-how and financing of the production lines. Profits will be equally shared, the Al Borsa article added. The facility is expected to start operations in 2017, according to Sahl El Damrawy, one of the Egyptian investors was quoted as saying. (Al Borsa)
