Egypt to submit letter of intent to IMF within three days, Finance Minister says
Egypt will submit within two or three days a letter of intent to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a USD12bn loan, which would include the government's economic reform programme, Minister of Finance Amr El-Garhy was quoted as saying on Monday. "The first tranche of the loan will be released within two weeks of IMF board approval, and we hope that will be as soon as possible," El-Garhy said. (Reuters)
