Egypt to reduce imported LNG shipments by a third in FY17/18
Egypt is planning to import 80 cargoes of LNG during FY17/18 down from the 118 cargoes imported last year, according to the Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Moll. "We were planning to import 154 cargoes of LNG in FY16/17 but we only imported 118 cargoes because of the increase in local gas production," Molla said. Meanwhile, the government expects to increase LNG production by 1 billion cfpd by the end of the current financial year to reach 6.2 billion cfpd, with an aim to halt imports by 2019.
