Egypt is to receive loans totalling USD700mn from the African Development Bank (AfDB), the bank’s VP, Khaled Sherif, said. The bank will provide a USD500mn facility for electricity projects over two equal instalments in June and January, as well as a separate USD200mn facility to finance railway upgrades in November.
