Dubai Parks and Resorts, the company which owns three linked theme parks in Dubai that are due to open this autumn, has announced that it is considering changing its name. The company, which is listed on the Dubai Financial Market, said on Sunday it was due to hold a board meeting on Wednesday to discuss the name change. Dubai Parks and Resorts was spun off from Meraas, a private property company owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, in 2014. A month ago, the company successfully closed a AED1.68bn rights issue to help fund the opening of a fourth theme park at its Jebel Ali home. (The National)
