Dubai airport says traffic in June reduced by Ramadan
Passenger traffic via Dubai International Airport, the world's busiest international hub, dropped 1% from a year ago to 5.86mn people in June because of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, the airport's operator said on Sunday. In the first half of this year passenger traffic rose 5.8% to 40.51mn people. Cargo handled by Dubai International rose 3.9% to 226,175 tonnes in June, and grew 3.8% to 1.28mn tonnes in 1H16. Only some of Dubai's air freight traffic passes through Dubai International as another facility, Dubai World Central, handles pure cargo operations. (Reuters)
