Appeals Court overturns ruling awarding Orange Egypt EGP500mn from Etisalat Misr
An Appeals Court has overturned a 2016 ruling mandating Etisalat Misr to pay Orange Egypt [OREG.CA] EGP500mn in arbitration, in a legal dispute over interconnection fees, according to Enterprise. The initial ruling had awarded Orange EGP285.19mn, in addition to fines and arbitration costs. However, it did not take into consideration that Etisalat Misr had paid the interconnection rates set by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA).
