King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has inked an agreement with United Cartons Industries Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Alesayi Group to set up a carton-manufacturing plant in the Industrial Valley, according to a statement. Construction on the project is due to start by 2Q18, while production is expected to begin in 2Q20. The plant, which will be built on a 58,000 sqm land plot, aims to first meet the needs of the local market, before starting exports to the GCC region, Middle East and the global markets. The Industrial Valley has attracted investments from companies in several fields, such as pharmaceuticals, food products, plastics, packaging, building materials and logistics services.
