Al Futtaim announces AED429mn mall, City Centre Sohar
Majid Al Futtaim Properties (Al Futtaim) has announced that it is planning to grow its existing portfolio of malls in Oman with City Centre Sohar. The AED429mn mall, located in the Northern Governorate’s capital Sohar, is scheduled to open in late 2018. The mall will include more than 130 stores, a 8,400 sqm Carrefour Hypermarket, and a nine-screen VOX Cinemas, as well as a number of dining and entertainment facilities, adding 40,000 sqm of GLA to Oman’s retail offering. According to Construction Week, the company has already awarded Al Turki Enterprise the USD117mn construction contract for the mall.
