Dubai-based budget airline Air Arabia [AIRA.DU], which operates a fleet of c50 Airbus aircraft, is considering switching purchasing its new planes from Boeing Co., US manufacturer of the Boeing 737 aircraft, for better cost efficiency, Air Arabia’s CEO Adel Ali said. Earlier in March the airline was considering the re-engined Max and Neo versions of the models for a 100-plane requirement worth USD11bn. Although it is unlikely that an order will be placed this week, the airline is willing to absorb the extra cost of running a mixed fleet if the Boeing planes' prices are more competitive, Ali added.
