Deputy Finance Minister, Ahmed Kouchouk, said that the G7 countries will provide USD500mn to support the FY17/18 budget, in line with the economic reform programme agreed with the IMF. The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr, stated that Egypt has finished negotiations with the UK and France and that the funds will be disbursed once approved by the parliament, each will provide USD150mn and USD175mn, respectively. Nasr also said that she will visit Germany next Friday to negotiate USD250mn funding deal towards end-2017, besides the USD250mn deal signed by President Sisi and Chancellor Angela Marcel during her latest visit to Egypt. The announcement was made as Egypt signed a Euro 259mn funding agreement from the French Development Agency.
