Yields on five-year bond rose by c1% to 16.5%, CBE cancels 10-year bond auction

The average yield on the Egyptian government’s five-year bonds rose to 16.512% at an auction on 20 June, from an average of 15.684% on 6 June. The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) cancelled a 10-year bond auction worth EGP500mn. Meanwhile, the EGP has weakened 5 piasters to EGP:USD 10.98 in the parallel market. (Reuters, Al Mal)
