The yield on 182-day Treasury bills rose to an average of 18.829% from 17.726% at the previous auction. The average yield on 364-day bills jumped to 18.982% from 17.725% previously. Sources at the Ministry of Finance said the up-tick in yields came in anticipation of the Central Bank MPC meeting, where banks expected it to raise interest rates, and expect yields to contract once again this week after the MPC left rates on hold.
