White sugar and poultry tariffs lifted for six months
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail decreed that tariffs on white sugar imported between 10 November 2016 and 30 May 2017 would be lifted. The same decision applies to frozen poultry imported during the same period. According to Al Borsa, many domestic producers were distressed by the recent announcement, which they see as a threat to the local industry. (Al Borsa, Al Mal)
