Wasl, local real estate developer, has set the deadline for the bids for the contract to build a new 60-storey tower on Sheikh Zayed Road before 31 August. The tower is one of a series of landmark tower projects, set to be built ahead of Expo 2020. The tower will be 300m tall and will have the world’s tallest ceramic façade. Wasl had approached contractors in May and invited them to express interest in bidding for the contract. Wasl had conducted meetings with them to discuss potential cooperation on the projects last year. These contractors include: Alec (local), Arabian Construction Company (ACC, Lebanon), Arabtec Construction (local), Bel Hasa Six Construct (local/Belgium), Brookfield Multiplex (Canada), and Samsung C+T (South Korea).
