UK Venator Materials may acquire Cristal's Ashtabula plant in Ohio under an agreement it signed with Tronox, according to ICIS news. Based on the news source, Tronox stated to have entered in to a binding MoU with Venator, which will grant the UK producer a 75-day exclusive period to negotiate buying Cristal plant. Ashtabula has two plants: i) plant 1: capacity of 104 ktpa; and ii) plant 2: 86 ktpa. The subject is relate to the proposed Tronox- Cristal deal, which has raised concerns of several global regulatory authorities, including the US FTC. (ICIS)
