Union Properties (UP) has announced the launch and commencement of construction on Zawaya, a new mixed-use project in Motor City. This marks launching the first phase of the new Motor City master plan, which has an expected total cost of cAED8bn, according to the company’s statement. The project spans 148,000 sqft and has a total BuA of 400,000 sqft, of which 55,000 sqft are dedicated for retail space. It will offer more than 400 residential units, including studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments. China State Construction Engineering (CSCEC) has been appointed to handle drilling works.
