Transport ministry asks PSC to extend PSQ operations by three months
The Port Services Corporation (PSC) on Wednesday said it has been requested by the Ministry of Transport and Communications to continue operations at Port Sultan Qaboos (PSQ) for another three months, up to March 31, 2017. The PSC had recently announced that it will enter liquidation from January 1, 2017, after the expiry of the present concession agreement to operate and manage PSQ on December 31. The company added that PSC's board of directors is studying this request taking into consideration the decisions taken by the shareholders in the second EGM held on December 7 and the local laws and regulations.
