Tourist numbers drop in February for fourth month in a row
The number of tourists visiting Egypt fell 46% Y-o-Y to 346,500 in February, showing lower arrivals for the fourth consecutive month as the deadly airplane crash last year continues to have an impact on the country's tourism industry. According to CAPMAS, West Europeans top the visitors list, making up 35.6% of the total arrivals, followed by Middle East with 26.7% and East Europeans with 14.1%. The countries sending the most tourists in each region are Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Ukraine, CAPMAS said. Tourists spent a total of 1.8 million nights in February, sharply down from 5.6 million in February 2015. (ahramonline)
